Course duration referenced below is the effective time taken to complete a course when studied full time (full time equivalent duration). At Charles Sturt the standard calendar refers to 32 points a session over a 2 session calendar year. The Actual Duration is the time taken to complete the course following the prescribed enrolment pattern. A course's actual duration can be affected by the session calendar (number of sessions undertaken per year) and/or mode (full time, part time or mixed) and credit packages which may have been granted unpon admission. Therefore, depending on the prescribed enrolment pattern, mode, calendar utilised and credit awarded a course may take less time or more time to complete than the duration noted as full time equivalent years. Students are advised to consult the Enrolment Pattern to determine the actual duration of study.
Full-time: 1.5 years (or part-time equivalent)
Full-time: 1.0 year (or part-time equivalent)
Full-time: 0.5 years (or part-time equivalent)
This course is designed to assist existing intelligence practitioners, and those hoping to access this field. As such students who are already working in as an intelligence analyst/practitioner, as well as those who hope to enter the profession, may be admitted (on a case by case basis) to the course. Applicants will normally have an undergraduate degree and relevant intelligence and analysis professional experience.
Applicants must have completed requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Analysis.
Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Analysis need to satisfy one or more of the following criteria:
The Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security is regularly liaising with a number of law enforcement and other agencies to assess credit packages based on internal industry courses that allow articulation into the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, and Master of Intelligence Analysis. These credit and articulation arrangements are progressively being established and details of finalised packages are made available on the CSU Credit Pathway Management system (CPM) as they are finalised.

The Master, Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate make up an articulated set of courses and credit is given in each higher level course for the subjects completed in the lower.
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 96 points.
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 32 points.
The course consists of an articulated set of courses containing a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, and Masters as follows:
Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Analysis.
Graduate Diploma of Intelligence Analysis.
In addition to the subjects above:

Admission to Master of Intelligence Analysis.
Students who have satisfactorily completed the Graduate Diploma requirements are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Intelligence Analysis. Upon admission to the Master degree course, students are awarded credit for the Graduate Diploma and upon successful completion of the requirements for the Master degree course (a further 32 points), students graduate with the award Master of Intelligence Analysis.

JST450 Introduction to Intelligence
JST428 Operational Intelligence

JST495 Intelligence and Analytics
One eight (8) point elective from any of the postgraduate subjects offered by AGSPS..
Graduate Diploma (Intelligence Analysis)
There is no set enrolment pattern for the graduate diploma, as the pattern is dependent on whether the student selects JST493 (a 16 pt subject over 2 sessions), plus elective postgraduate subjects offered by AGSPS, or select JST452 plus elective postgraduate subjects offered by AGSPS.
Master of Intelligence Analysis
Students who have satisfactorily completed the Graduate Diploma requirements are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Intelligence Analysis. Upon admission to the Master degree course, students are awarded credit for the Graduate Diploma and upon successful completion of the requirements for the Master degree course (a further 32 points), graduation point is reached.
There are three pathways to the Master degree course.

JST530 Research Methodology and Dissertation (16 points)
Session 2
JST531 Dissertation (16 points)

Option 2
Work place research project stream
Session One and Two.
EMG505 Work Based Project (16 points), and,
EMG506 Literature Review (16 points).

Option 3
Coursework stream
There is no set enrolment pattern in this stream as enrolment is dependent on session of entry and the student choice of order of study of the two core subjects and sixteen points of electives.
JST539 Counterintelligence, and,
JST540 Independent Knowledge Integration: Theory and Professional Practice, and,
Elective subjects (16 points)
