BIO112 Principles of Ecology (8)

Australian ecosystems are unique in their complexity and diversity of species. Understanding the ecology of these systems is fundamental to managing and conserving these places for future generations. The subject describes the foundations for life on Earth, introducing the fundamental concepts of biology, evolution and ecology of animals and plants that make up the diversity of ecosystems on our planet. Students will have the opportunity for hands-on learning through activities such as collecting and analysing data on biodiversity, underpinned with theoretical knowledge. On completion, students will have foundational knowledge and skills to successfully continue their studies in plant, animal, terrestrial and aquatic ecology.
