Students will learn the basic tools used in professional business practice and develop industry connections through an immersive learning approach. The subject will focus on building practical skills that are used in business and connect students to their real world application through the inclusion of business professionals in the delivery of the subject. Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to understand and evaluate the needs and drivers of regional businesses;
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in current business tools such as Google docs, Dropbox etc;
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in spreadsheet and other data presentation software;
  • be able to analyse basic data and communicate the findings in both written and verbal presentations to a management audience; and
  • be able to understand the use and relevance of social media for business marketing and stakeholder engagement.

  • Introduction to general office essentials.
  • Using spreadsheets and other data presentation software.
  • Basic data analysis.
