This subject develops students' ability to plan and stage an event, emphasising the strategic value of events and the importance of planning at every stage. This subject provides students with sound knowledge of event management processes and a broad range of event-related skills. Students learn how to work independently to make operational event management decisions. Students completing the subject will be able to work in the diverse events industry, both in the planning and delivery of events.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to apply strategic planning and project management skills in executing a real or simulated event;
  • be able to develop an event from inception through to evaluation;
  • be able to devise and implement message strategies to communicate to stakeholders through an event; and
  • be able to demonstrate evidence-based decision making in a team context.
