This subject explores how classroom digital technologies can be used in pedagogically effective ways to engage students in their learning, to expand learning opportunities, and to facilitate student-centred learning. As well as developing the ability to plan research-based classroom activities using technology, the subject also covers ways to enable school student achievement of Australian curriculum outcomes through utilisation of a range of digital technologies. This subject will enable teacher education students to identify and understand a range of social, legal, and ethical issues, and know how to use digital technologies in a safe, responsible, and ethical way in their teaching. The ability to locate, select, and evaluate digital technology-based resources for use in their teaching, and how to use such resources in the classroom is also addressed.
