ESS599 Inclusive Education Legislation, Policy and Resourcing (8)

The subject provides a focus on the current legislative and policy basis for inclusion with emphasis on international, national and state legislation, policies and standards. In addition, the subject provides the opportunity to write a school-based policy to promote greater awareness and application of inclusive practices in schools. Students will apply the knowledge gained in their previous coursework with reference to effective inclusive practice at the school, class and child level with new knowledge of legislation, policy and resourcing to provide appropriate services to children with additional needs. The assessment items for this subject will enable students to analyse and reflect on policy for inclusion and apply their knowledge of the provision of services to students with additional needs, to policy design and development.
