It introduces students to HRM concepts, theories and functions which will enable them to apply successful HRM strategies in their workplace. Students will examine how HRM functions and how different issues such as change management inform the process of developing and implementing a strategic human resource approach in an information agency.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to apply human resource management concepts and theories to an information agency;
  • be able to research, formulate and implement a strategic human resource plan for an information agency;
  • be able to analyse, synthesise, and evaluate the key issues of change and its impact on developing strategic HRM approaches in an information agency; and
  • be able to evaluate the similarities and differences in human resource management practices among different cultures.
