This subject introduces the student to the development of the study of the Arabic language after the advent of Islam. Main figures, critical books and different methodologies in the study of Arabic will be explored to gain an appreciation of the importance of the study of Arabic for different Islamic disciplines and other fields. Students will continue to advance their knowledge in vocabulary, syntax and morphology as well as begin to access classical non-vowelised textbooks.
