It will incorporate classical and contemporary works of scholars on matters such as the politics and governance of Prophet Muhammad and the development and implementation of the Caliphate. It will critically evaluate liberal democracy and secularism in contrast to contemporary Islam, and consider case studies of political developments in the post-colonisation period in Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan and Indonesia.
