This subject aims to develop students' skills in imaginative writing by focussing on specific techniques and genres. It is organised into two modules: short fiction and poetry. The subject will consist of seminars and workshops on various aspects of writing - conceptual, developmental and practical. Tuition by visiting writers-in-residence will be a feature of this subject.

  • Be able to produce successfully completed work in the genres studied
  • Be able to demonstrate and understanding of various editing skills
  • Be able to relate their own writing to the current context of creative writing in Australia
