This subject provides students with the knowledge and skills required to address aspects of clinical psychology practice requiring advanced competencies, including the assessment and treatment of clients with multiple diagnoses, working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, dealing with forensic matters, and professional issues such as practice management and the provision of clinical supervision.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to design and implement psychotherapeutic interventions for clients with a range of complex and comorbid psychological conditions;
  • be able to recognise the impact of sociocultural factiors and modify interventions appropriately;
  • be able to produce psychology reports for courts and other legal purposes;
  • be able to manage a professional psychology practice; and
  • be able to provide effective clinical supervision to psychologists and other professionals.
