All students enter the Master of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice and can choose to graduate with a lower award of Graduate Diploma of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice.


To be eligible for admission to this course students must:

  • hold a minimum of an AQF 7 degree in medical radiation science from a university or other tertiary education provider (or equivalent);
  • have current registration as a Medical Radiation Scientist with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA). International students should provide evidence of registration with local authorities.

Students can apply directly after completion of their undergraduate Medical Radiation Science qualification, however should be currently employed in their area of registration.

Course Structure

The Master of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice has an intake for Session 1 (30) and Session 2 (60), due to the flexibility of the course requirements there is no single enrolment pattern. Students are encouraged to design their own enrolment pattern based on their educational requirements. Example enrolment patterns are offered below, and students are encouraged to contact the Course Director for advice if required. Students must complete the core subjects in Year 2 and 3 as identified. The course is offered online and studied part-time only over 3 year for the Master and 2 years for the Graduate Diploma.

A range of Charles Sturt University Graduate Certificates can be undertaken prior to enrolment into the Master of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice. Students may choose to study a Graduate Certificate from the options listed below, receive the qualification award and 32 points of credit towards their restricted electives once enrolling into the Master of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice. Students will enter the course at the beginning of the second year, in the 3-year course pattern.

Enrolment Pattern

The Master of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice has two (2) intakes, Session1 (30) and Session 2 (60). There is some flexibility in how a student can arrange their enrolment based on both pathways. Below are guidelines and example enrolment patterns.

NOTES:

  • Students must complete the core subjects in Year 2 and 3 as identified
  • Students who opt to undertake one of the suggested Charles Sturt University Graduate Certificates prior to entry into the Master of Advanced Medical Radiation Practice will enter the course in the second year of the enrolment pattern and can choose electives from the Restricted Elective A (MRS) list only.
  • Year-long subjects only need to be enrolled into at the commencement of the teaching period.
  • This course has both Year-long subjects and single session subjects. Please ensure you enrol in all subjects for the respective year of study.
