ASC533 Master's Research Dissertation (32)

This is a research subject available only to students enrolled in the Master of Animal Science. Students enrolled in this subject will work directly with their supervisory team to undertake an appropriate research project. Students will complete at least one seminar presentation, and submit (including to a peer-reviewed scientific journal) their final project as a full scientific paper(s) for examination.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to design a research project, including the appropriate application of research methodologies, and articulate this design in a research proposal;
  • be able to obtain human/animal ethics approval (if required);
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in the execution of a research project through submission of the project as a full scientific paper(s); and
  • be able to effectively communicate the research project in written and verbal formats.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:
  • Students select a research topic, develop a plan and then undertake a research project, under the guidance of the supervisor(s), which is relevant to the nominated discipline.
