This subject is the first of a series of employability and professional practice subjects which focus on employability skills, personal skills and career planning. This subject has a particular emphasis on enhancing professional knowledge of working in a business environment, and understanding the value of workplace learning and lifelong learning. Students will also audit, reflect on, and expand on their employability skills.

  • The 'why' of WPL: History, foundational theory, contemporary thinking, benefits and challenges
  • Reflective practice
  • The business environment and industry engagement in regional Australia
  • Understanding the relationship between self, work, society and the economy
  • Lifelong learning and learning theory
  • Employability skills
