This subject provides students with the theoretical knowledge and understanding of how paramedics manage paediatric medical and traumatic emergencies in the out of hospital environment. The subject reviews anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology as appropriate for the level of graduate entry into paramedicine. Evidence based patient management strategies will be used to develop students' skills in assessment and management of medical and traumatic emergencies in the paediatric population. The subject will also enhance students ability to apply and evaluate patient care decisions for paediatric patients.
