COM132 Writing and Producing for the Digital Age (8)

This subject focuses on the purpose and components of writing to produce professional and academic texts.  Students will develop an understanding of how to research, interpret and analyse information to inform decision making and approaches to their scholarship and professional practice. Well-developed writing and editing skills are essential for communicators working in strategic communication, news and media and design and content creation. This subject is one of four introductory subjects that build the theoretical and discipline specific skills essential for communication professionals.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to create communication for a variety of audiences and purposes;

  • Be able to plan communication texts to engage, inform, and communicate to audiences with impact; and
  • Be able to create mixed media storytelling for a range of platforms and channels.
