The research subject for the Doctor of Communication. This subject requires the candidate to carry out a series of investigations on a topic within the professional field of communication selected by the student in conjunction with the student's supervisors. Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • The results of each candidate's research shall be presented as a Dissertation or a Portfolio of three research cases and exegesis which along with coursework will be the basis of assessment for the awarding of the degree
  • The research program will be examined by two examiners who shall examine the projets according to the following criteria:
  • the candidates understanding of the fold of study
  • the originality of the work embodied in the research projects
  • the significance of the research projects as a contribution to knowledge in the field of study
  • the adequacy of the research methodology
  • the worthiness of the research findings for publication.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:
  • a series of investigations within the professional field of communication of the candidate
  • a series of three related research areas written up as research projects
  • a Portfolio and exegesis based on the research projects presented in written form for examination
