In this subject, students examine the current and historical relationship between and among sport, politics and economics. Students will develop the skills to investigate sport and social policy, the Australian sports delivery system, sport and protest, government funding of sport and the sustainability of sport as a commercial enterprise. Students will critically examine the significance of sport to Australia's national identity and develop the skills to analyse marketing strategies and management issues and the role of the media in the sports industry within Australia and globally.
