EMA442 Curriculum Method 2: Visual Arts (8)

In this subject, students develop and deepen their understanding of secondary Visual Arts education, 7-12, with a focus on the NSW Stage 6 Visual Arts syllabus. The curriculum involves a practice-based approach that models, analyses and approximates teaching and learning. Students develop their understandings of Visual Arts curriculum, continuums of learning, approaches to pedagogy and assessment in Visual Arts. Students explore the perspectives of learners in Visual Arts, engage in collaborative examinations and approximations of teaching and develop connections to the community. Learning culminates in involvement in a documented online student event and development of a portfolio of professional teaching resources. Forms of assessment include digital presentations, curriculum documents, collaborative learning space development, investigative processes along with simulated assessment and reporting. Assessments focus on the application of knowledge and skills in a series of integrated and authentic practice-based contexts and tasks.
