To be able to work with others, we must first understand ourselves and how we are perceived in the workplace. This subject will explore your role in the workplace, challenge you to reflect on and develop your self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills, as well as your ability to understand and manage your impact on others.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to recognise and critically reflect on their personal and social skills in the workplace through the lens of emotional intelligence theory;
  • be able to create an action plan to develop their emotional intelligence, including their impact on others; and
  • be able to evaluate their personal change management initiatives.

  • Understanding and application of the Four Temperaments Theory (personality profile)
  • Theory of emotional intelligence
  • Developing self-awareness, self-regulation, and motivation
  • Developing empathy, social skills and understanding your impact on others
