This subject considers the relationship between technology and children, and the use of technology in and beyond the early childhood and primary classrooms. Students will relate a child's socio-emotional development to new digital technologies as tools for learning and teaching. Media literacy in technology-supported classrooms will be emphasized through programming for learning and applying strategies for safely integrating new technologies using innovative practices. Students will become skilled in learning and teaching about children and digital technologies specifically in regard to relationships, ethical behaviours, health and wellbeing, citizenship, and play and pedagogy.
