This subject explores the concepts and underlying principles of global sustainable development. Students investigate the issues raised in the application of sustainable principles by exploring real situations and case studies. A key focus is on the importance of the knowledges and understandings of the Indigenous Peoples of Australia in both historical and contemporary environmental management. On completion students are able to critically appraise the lessons learned from the experience of implementing sustainable development in a global context.
