HLT519 Evaluation in Clinical Education (8)

This subject applies the principle of transformative learning to explore the role of evaluation in the planning and delivery of education in a clinical context. The sources of information that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical education will be reviewed. Students will also learn how to appraise existing assessment tools and learning resources. A variety of learning and teaching models will be evaluated. Students will critically reflect on their own individual strengths and areas for development in the delivery of clinical education, including examining the possibility of bias as an assessor, and reflecting on specific challenges to the role of the clinical educator. Finally, students will learn about the role of continuing professional development for the clinical educator and establish a professional portfolio.
