HML506 Evaluating Health Care Services (16)

Students develop and justify an evaluation plan for a health service or an aspect of health service delivery. As part of this, Students select and explain an evaluation model and implement an evaluation project. They also explore the place and value of implementation science related to health services and reflect on their personal capacity for undertaking future enquiry within the management role. The subject concludes with the submission of an evaluation business report or a publishable article.

  • be able to discuss the place and value of implementation science; and
  • be able to report the results of an evaluation project via a business report or journal article.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:
  • Evaluation as a management and leadership practice;
  • Evaluation methodologies;
  • Process evaluation, outcome evaluation, quality management, action research, and health service research;
  • Principles of implementation science; and
  • Reporting on evaluation projects - business report and publishable journal article.
