HSS302 Capstone Subject: Your Discipline, Your Region and the World (8)

The subject applies the principles of a capstone subject. It integrates prior knowledge and skills from the whole course into a cohesive framework for practice and further research. Students will be encouraged to apply their particular disciplinary knowledge to the subject's themes and also engage with other disciplinary perspectives. In this subject students are encouraged to interrogate and reflect upon the concepts of 'place' and 'region' and what these might mean for them and their specialised discipline. The subject will analyse the interaction between individual, regional and global spheres of influence and explore non-geographic notions of 'place' and 'region'. Accordingly, the subject will meaningfully engage with the university's ethos of 'Yindyamarra Winhanganha' - the wisdom of respectfully knowing how to live well in a world worth living in. It is advised that students take this subject only after completing a recognised specialisation or major sequence of subjects.

No offerings have been identified for this subject in 2022.
