ISL181 Sirah (Life of Prophet Muhammad) (8)

This subject discusses the life of Prophet Muhammad from multiple angles. There is a focus on his character, personality, and common misconceptions about his life and work. Various time periods of his life including pre-Islamic Arabia, early life before prophethood, the Meccan period and migration to Medina are covered. The social, diplomatic and military challenges he faced are studied. The family life of the Prophet, his spirituality, his reported miracles, social transformations during his lifetime, and dynamics that were to shape human history will be addressed.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • Conquest of Mecca and repercussions
  • The miracles and future predictions of Prophet Muhammad
  • The spiritual aspect of Prophet Muhammad
  • The character of Prophet Muhammad
  • Family life and Prophet Muhammad
  • Clarifying misconceptions about Prophet Muhammad
  • The death of the Prophet and his legacy
