This subject is the final step in your major IT project within the systems analysis, network engineering and systems administration areas. Work started in ITC306 Software Development Project 2 will be completed in this subject. This subject, and its linked subject ITC306, cover the practical application of a project management methodology in the development and delivery of a major project.

In this subject, students will be working in teams to produce and release their project deliverables, including appropriate manuals. They will then be expected to review the project outcomes, artefacts and collaborative work.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to implement standard testing parameters and evaluate system performance;
  • be able to apply project management tools to assist in timely completion of milestones;
  • be able to demonstrate technical writing skills through development of appropriate technical manuals;
  • be able to evaluate the project process, including team management, against the project proposal; and
  • be able to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Technical writing
  • Testing and implementation including automated tools and techniques, quality control, and test documentation
  • Benefits and implications of effective team management including professional and ethical behaviours, inter-personal skills, managing people and user management
