This subject provides a general introduction to managing computers called servers that provide web, file, electronic mail, and similar kinds of networked services. Computers running the Linux operating system are studied. Students learn to operate servers via the command line, write scripts to automate management tasks, analyse and improve the performance of servers, create and manage basic information services, and assess methods required to protect data and services accessed from the internet.
