This subject will provide valuable insights into emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence for modern day businesses and industry. It covers the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, deep learning and reinforcement learning, and applying these technologies to solve complex business problems. This subject will also prepare students to develop business design thinking to optimise business processes by harnessing AIs capabilities.

Assumed Knowledge

Basic understanding of programming is required to successfully complete this subject. Students without programming knowledge are encouraged to enrol in ITC558 prior to attempting this subject.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to discuss the fundamental concepts behind Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning;
  • be able to analyse advanced algorithms to design and develop complex business applications using Artificial Intelligence;
  • be able to critically evaluate different Artificial Intelligence approaches for optimising complex business processes; and
  • be able to interpret Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts in the context of industry specific business applications.

  • Introduction to Artificial intelligence (AI) and Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
  • Role of AI and Machine Learning (ML) in Business Processes and Business Development

  • Visual and linguistic processing using AI
  • Designing intelligent software solutions for industry
  • Optimising Business Processes using AI and ML
  • AI Business Ethics
