This subject explores the theories and practices of community development, community building and inclusion, as they relate to health and leisure programs and the human services field. Students investigate the sociopolitical context of community, including equity issues that relate to diverse population groups. They consider theories of inclusive citizenship and how these may inform community practice. Strategies for promoting social change through community programs and projects are also examined.
