The subject examines the key principles of designing, implementing and evaluating projects through the wider project lifecycle. The role of various stakeholders is also introduced. This subject may include some face to face workshops and activities depending on the student cohort.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to explain the role that projects play in the strategic management of organisations;
  • be able to develop a completed and comprehensive project plan that includes all relevant stakeholders;
  • be able to apply project technical aspects across the project lifecycle; and
  • be able to evaluate project progress through application of project management measurement tools and techniques.

  • Contemporary project management
  • Relationship between project management and strategy
  • The project management lifecycle
  • Project technical management within project lifecycle phases including: scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality management; project progress and the use of project management software
