This subject focuses on the role of leadership and leaders towards achieving social impact. Examining the tension between an organisation's purpose and its profit drivers, students will explore questions like: How does our organisation impact society and how could it impact society? Is our growth sustainable and responsive in a changing world? What are strategies for creating positive societal impact? This subject will investigate current challenges in achieving social benefit, and explore the emerging ideas around collective, eco-system leadership.
The subject explores a range of contemporary theories and models of social change leadership. Students will critically evaluate these models and develop their own theoretical framework with practice-based approaches to respond to a social change in their organisation and/or community.
