This subject explores local, indigenous and international leadership thinking and practices. It invites students to reach beyond westernised cultures to apply novel perspectives on the perplexing leadership challenges of a globalised world. There is a particular emphasis on the ethical and ecosystem dimensions of leadership for healthy organisations, communities and other social systems. Students will explore the dynamic nature and complexity of contemporary issues and how leadership can respond. Students will reflect on historical, cultural, economic and sociocultural influences on leadership and use these insights for planning culturally appropriate and sustainable interventions in the face of contemporary global challenges.
