This subject is designed to develop students appreciation of the importance of mathematics in society as well as their personal numeracy. Students will further develop their knowledge, skills and understanding in Measurement, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. This will be developed by following the evolution of some mathematical concepts throughout history and how these concepts have aided in communication and interpretation of the world around us. The subject will focus on the application of mathematical understandings and techniques, problem-solving, mathematical modelling and reasoning in a broad range of contexts relevant to education and everyday lives.
