This subject is a 16 point subject delivered over two sessions and aims to expand the student's education in Nuclear Medicine science. It builds on the theory developed during undergraduate studies and on the skills developed in clinical practice. The subject provides a focus on recent innovation and development in Nuclear Medicine Science, detailing the theory that may have evolved since completion of undergraduate studies. The subject examines the theory of current research and development that may evolve over coming years into standard principles and practice of clinical Nuclear Medicine. The subject aims to provide a broad based understanding of these principles and practice, providing a sound platform of knowledge for students to apply clinically. Delivery of the subject will provide a continuing professional education and development perspective. The subject includes innovation and developments in instrumentation, radiopharmacy and clinical practice.
