This subject has a workplace learning component that the student will undertake in their own work environment.
This subject consolidates students previous experience to develop advanced knowledge and skills in health and physical assessment across the lifespan, with a focus on factors impacting health assessment in the rural and remote setting. Students will further develop skills in clinical reasoning to integrate assessment data, knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology, and evidence-informed practice, as they work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to develop patient-focused solutions in a range of clinical situations. In addition to physical assessment, students will also develop their knowledge and skills in health assessment as they evaluate social and cultural considerations to determine care priorities in the context of culturally safe assessment. Students will negotiate mentoring from a suitably qualified health professional to develop and complete a collaborative, competency-based learning contract in their workplace.
