OCC406 Enabling Strategies: Advanced Practice (Honours) (8)

This subject utilises problem-based learning to enable students to develop skills and knowledge in advanced areas of occupational therapy practice. OCC406 is a capstone subject where students further develop their occupational therapy professional reasoning and critical appraisal skills, while also building knowledge of two advanced practice areas. The two advanced areas of practice are selected by students from a number of available areas; one area must include inter-professional learning. Students have the opportunity to learn with and from other health professional students for one area of learning, to further develop their skills in inter-professional collaboration and teamwork. A problem-based learning approach is used to enable students to apply and appraise knowledge and skills from workplace learning experiences and previous subjects, and to further develop their professional reasoning abilities.
