This subject contains a 20 days Compulsory Workplace Learning component.
Students are required to undertake Professional Placements in a Community Pharmacy environment. The student must complete placements in two different community pharmacies. Each placement must be of a minimum of 70 hours completed over 10 working days.
The aim of these placements is to provide an insight into professional practice and to assist students to apply their clinical and business knowledge. These placements will also provide students with opportunities for applied decision making with the aim of promoting the quality use of medication and improving business outcomes.
Workplace learning is a key part of the curriculum delivery expectations and is to be reported to the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC), as part of the annual accreditation process.
