This subject introduces students to the concept of resilience. It will explore how resilience is different to recovery, and that there are multiple and sometimes unexpected pathways to resilience. Students will learn about models of stress, trauma, and coping, and factors that predict resilience. The subject highlights the importance of coping and positively adapting to stressful life experiences. Students will explore the three features from scientific resilience discourse: recovery, sustainability, and growth.
