SPH202 Managing Auditory Impairments (8)

This subject draws on both speech pathology and audiology to introduce students to hearing impairment, auditory processing disorders, and social, cultural and linguistic features of the deaf community. It includes a focus on the interprofessional context of the management of hearing impairments, including assessment and intervention. Students will learn about the scientific basis for hearing and models of audiological processing, and gain competence in basic audiological procedures for hearing screening. Further, students will develop skills in the use of technological, environmental and multimodal interventions for people/communities with hearing impairment, including practical training in AUSLAN.

No offerings have been identified for this subject in 2022.
