In this subject students research, analyse, plan and produce a range of collaborative productions responding to a range of social and cultural issues. Students are exposed to a broad survey of historic and contemporary productions including screen based drama, drama in non-traditional settings, and socially engaged performance practices.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to critically analyse and validate various exploratory techniques and processes as a means of producing experimental innovative productions;
  • be able to test and evaluate ideas from various perspectives (author and audience) through user testing, self-evaluation and critique;
  • be able to apply technical, creative and theoretical skills to take an idea from concept to production in innovative and socially engaged dramatic contexts;
  • be able to describe a range of cultural, political, environmental or economic drivers that inform innovative production; and
  • be able to critique their own work and the work of their peers.
