The course is designed to further knowledge and understanding of the Australian health care system and is tailored to meet current and prospective professional development needs within health management.
Normal course duration
Part-time 1 year (2 sessions)
The course is primarily targeted at those employed in the health sector and applicants should have at least 2 years experience in the health sector. Applicants must hold a Diploma, or equivalent, in a related health science.
Credit for previous study
Credit is not available for this course.
This course is recognised as a tertiary post-graduate health services management qualification.
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete four subjects (or 32 subject points).
The subject areas cover the academic components of health services management. There are no practical placement requirements or components covered in the course and no residential schools. It is expected, though, that the student will have access to a health facility.
