ECO200 MICROECONOMIC ANALYSIS (8)

The primary aim of the unit will be to develop a selected set of microeconomic topics related to consumers, producers, markets both perfect and imperfect, factor markets, types of market failure an forms of government regulation as well as introducting topics on dynamic analysis, welfare economics and selected aspects of policy analysis - at an intermediate level. The unit provides the student with insight into the nature of rational economic decision making by economic agents while retaining a managerial perspective on decision making through the use of a range of microeconomic intermediate models and tools of analysis. Emphasis will be on blending both priniciples and selected applications in each topic to increase student appreciation and understanding of the relevance to contemporary managerial and consumer decision-making of the topics explored in the unit.
