Examines contemporary management structures and processes of local authorities in Australia with some comparative reference to local government systems in other countries. Emphasises recognition that contemporary local authorities operate in a change environment and that prescriptive approaches to management structures and processes is inappropriate. Considers the procedures relating to the conduct of council meetings and local government electoral systems.
