Introduces production/operations and service industries. Emphasises
operations as a function of business along with marketing and
finance. Decision areas of operations management are used to structure
the subject - processes to be employed, capacity of a facility,
management of inventory, management of the work force and job
design, and control and attainment of quality output. Includes
the study of the application of computer based decision support
programmes.
