STA201 SCIENTIFIC STATISTICS (8)

Develops a range of techniques and concepts from probability and
statistics for interpretation of both experimental and observed
data. Differences in statistical inference for experimental and
observed data and design of controlled experiments, randomisation,
causality, cost and efficiency will be illustrated by examples
drawn from agriculture, biology, environmental science, industry
and medical science. Statistical tests based on error sums of
squares will be unified by the concept of a model and a reduced
model.
