Graduate Diploma of Cultural Heritage Studies


The course is designed for students who wish to establish careers in the museum, heritage and cultural tourism industries. Students will gain technical skills and practical experience together with an understanding of cultural politics and theory.

Admission requirements

Entry to the Graduate Diploma of Cultural Heritage Studies is open to those holding a Bachelors degree, other than the Bachelor of Arts (Cultural Heritage Studies) course at CSU, in relevant discipline areas. Applicants who have previous relevant industry experience and demonstrable academic skills will also be considered.

Articulation

This course is given full credit towards the Master of Arts (Cultural Heritage Studies).

Course requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete
64 subject points (consisting of eight subjects).

Residential schools

Because of the hands-on and practical nature of the course, it will be necessary for students to attend residential schools in some of the subjects. Residential schools will be held in the mid-semester breaks in April/May and September/October. Students will be notified of precise residential school dates once they have been accepted to the course.
