The Graduate Certificate in Communication (Organisational Communication) has been designed primarily for practitioners in communication and related fields.
The course exposes students to a variety of communication and social theories, and to research methodologies, which can be applied to careers in public relations, organisational communication, business communication or communication related areas of business, education and government.

Applicants require a three year degree or qualification deemed equivalent or professional experience in a relevant area.
There is no credit available for the Graduate Certificate. However, in some cases a student may apply to the Course Coordinator to substitute other subjects if they can demonstrate competence by virtue of previous studies in recognised award courses. Substitution does not reduce the number of subjects required to complete the course.
The Graduate Certificate is given full credit in the Master of Arts (Communication).
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete four core communication theory and research subjects. Topics include study of practical, theoretical and methodological issues concerning communication.

Workshops, held at the ABC's radio training facilities, are a compulsory part of the course. Details will be issued when applicants are accepted for enrolment.
