It exposes students to both theoretical and practical aspects of radio broadcasting. The compulsory practical workshops associated with the course are held in the ABC's radio training facilities.

Applicants will normally hold an appropriate undergraduate qualification and have a demonstrated interest in radio broadcasting. Students who do not have an undergraduate qualification may be admitted to the course if they can demonstrate equivalent qualifications or experience.
There is no credit available for the Graduate Certificate. However, in some cases a student may apply to the Course Coordinator to substitute other subjects if they can demonstrate competence by virtue of previous studies in recognised award courses. Substitution does not reduce the number of subjects required to complete the course.
Credit may be given, where appropriate for the ABC workshop components.
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete
32 subject points.
