Graduate Certificate in Health Psychology

The Graduate Certificate in Health Psychology is designed for health professionals working in community health agencies.

The course provides training in the psychology of health and health care, particularly in the areas of alcohol and drug abuse, rehabilitation and health promotion. It is relevant to people who have graduated with a degree in the health professions, as well as graduates in the social sciences who plan to work in the field of community health.

Successful applicants are required to complete four subjects. At the normal rate of two subjects per session, the course will take one year to complete.

* In some cases, a student may apply to the Course Coordinator to substitute other subjects, if they can demonstrate competence by virtue of previous studies in recognised award courses. One substitute subject that will be available is PSY416 Health Psychology Reading Subject. Substitution does not reduce the number of subjects required to complete the course.
